The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Manitoba and across Canada gets involved in the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup each year. This is a great opportunity for participants to log some community service hours as well as take some time to clean up the many shoreline areas. This year the Manitoba Division will be hosting a site at St. Vital Park on Saturday Sept. 19th at 1pm. We are looking for all participants, leaders, and Gold Award Achievers to come and help out. Why not come spend a couple of hours helping to make a difference in the community. We are asking anyone who is interested to call or e-mail our office at 988-3016 or manitoba@dukeofed.org to sign up.
Here is a picture of a group from the International Gold Event who went to a bird sanctuary to help clean up. They had a really fun time working together and helping to make it a better place.
